Gandalf is a better character than Elrond
By Flynn Bradford-Loriente
If you Lord of the Rings fans are wondering who is a better character, Gandalf or Elrond? Then I have the answer. I am supporting the argument by saying that Gandalf is just too good for Elrond. If you’re now thinking I’m not convinced, or what about Elrond?
then I have reasons that will tell you that Gandalf is better than
Elrond, and you can trust me because I have watched the Lord of the
Rings trilogy since I was 3 years old, and I’ve observed these
characters’ abilities in detail. The characters are pretty much my
friends! This equates to HUNDREDS of hours of thinking, watching,
pondering these questions you want to know the answer to!
One
of Gandalf’s greatest strengths is his wizardry. His magic comes from
his staff. Gandalf’s staff can illuminate, push foes back, call
Shadowfax and Gwaihir and counter magical spells. Sounds like a lot,
doesn’t it? That’s only Gandalf the Grey’s powers. Gandalf the White has
those powers and more! In his white form, he can attack with a
Lightning Strike, Blinding Light, Fire, Destructive Blast and he can
summon the Shield of the Istari. Gandalf is truly a formidable wizard.

Speaking of Elrond, I must say that he is a very wise leader. He commanded various armies, including the Last Alliance. He has the gift of foresight, allowing him to see great distances, and he can also heal others, which is another of his gifts. However Gandalf is also a wise, powerful and fearless leader. Elrond’s abilities are limited and it is evident that Gandalf’s powers and skills are far greater than Elrond’s.
So,
Lord of the Rings fans, I hope you can now see that Gandalf is the
better character. Elrond doesn’t have the powers like Gandalf has.
Elrond may be skilful, but you can’t compare that to Gandalf’s magic and
sword. Elrond hasn’t done what Gandalf has done, like defeat a Balrog!
Gandalf is just too good.
Interesting points. I would like to see some evidence of this from the books :)
